Oh, how things can change in a week.

Well, in my last post I talked about how the Arizona Diamondbacks came up with a huge win and were sitting well going into the three game series against the Dodgers. I also praised them for picking up Adam Dunn and David Eckstein.

Well, I am a man and I am not afraid to admit my mistakes. Apparently the D-Backs were not sitting well going into the series Dodgers. They got swept! That’s right, they lost all three games. Not only did they lose but they lost the first place spot they have had in the National League West since April! Not to mention they are losing to the Giants right now 2-1 and if they lose this game they will be swept by them as well, and they are one of the worst teams in the majors!

Adam Dunn has not helped out the team except for getting walked every so often and hitting a few homeruns that didn’t help because the game was already over. Dunn is not the only person on the Diamondbacks to blame. What is wrong with our pitching staff? At first, the problem only lied with our bullpens, but now our starters are getting roughed around. Dan Haren, Brandon Webb and Randy Johnson are some of the marquee pitchers of the league. All three of them have lost their last three starts. That is unheard of.

Right now the D-Backs are 2 1/2 games behind the Dodgers for first place and it looks they are about to lose the game they are playing now to be down 3 games. They season is reaching the finish line. If the D-backs want any chance of making the playoffs they better make a move now!
